Extracted from PR #6 (smk2295) — full PR was rebased on stale main and would have reverted unrelated work. Applied only the 3 new photos with web-optimized sizing (resized to 2000px max, JPEG q85) and matching 600x600 thumbnails under stories/thumbs/.
