FAQ & Troubleshooting
This page collects answers to common questions and solutions to the most frequent Levyra issues.
If your problem is not listed here, check the open issues or report a new one on GitHub.
Try the following:
- Make sure you downloaded the latest APK from the official Levyra GitHub Releases page.
- Allow your browser or file manager to install unknown apps if Android asks for permission.
- If you already have Levyra installed, try installing the new version over the existing one.
- If installation still fails, restart the device and try again.
Official releases:
Download the latest release manually and install it over the existing version.
Normally, you should not need to uninstall Levyra before updating.
If Android refuses the update, verify that the APK comes from the official Levyra repository.
Playback availability can depend on the source used for the selected track.
Try:
- Playing another song
- Searching for the track again
- Restarting playback
- Closing and reopening Levyra
- Checking your internet connection
If the issue affects many tracks consistently, report it on GitHub.
Check:
- Internet connection
- Battery restrictions
- Background activity restrictions
- Whether the selected source is temporarily unavailable
On Android, aggressive battery-saving settings can sometimes interfere with background playback.
Levyra combines metadata from different sources.
In some cases, external metadata may temporarily return incorrect or ambiguous information.
If the problem is reproducible, open an issue and include:
- Track name
- Artist
- Album
- Screenshot
- What Levyra displayed
- What should have been displayed instead
This makes metadata problems much easier to reproduce and fix.
Artwork depends on the metadata available for the selected content.
Try reopening the page or searching for the item again.
If the wrong artwork is consistently shown, report the affected song, album or artist.
Lyrics are not guaranteed for every song.
Availability depends on whether compatible lyrics can be found for the current track.
This can happen when different tracks have very similar names or metadata.
Please report the affected track on GitHub.
Try:
- Searching using only the artist name
- Searching using only the song title
- Removing punctuation or extra words
- Searching again later
Search results depend on the information returned by the available music sources.
Check:
- Available device storage
- Internet connection
- App permissions
- Whether the selected content supports downloading
Restarting Levyra may also help if a download becomes stuck.
Make sure Levyra has the required permission to access audio files on your device.
Also verify that the files use a supported audio format.
If playback stops when the screen is off, Android may be restricting Levyra in the background.
Depending on your device manufacturer, look for settings related to:
- Battery optimization
- Background usage
- Sleeping apps
- Auto start
- Background activity
Allow Levyra to continue running in the background if necessary.
Try:
- Close Levyra completely.
- Launch it again.
- Restart Windows.
- Download the latest version.
- Reinstall or extract the latest package again.
If the problem continues, open a GitHub issue and include your Windows version.
First test multiple tracks.
If the issue affects all playback, restart Levyra and verify that you are using the latest version.
If only specific tracks fail, include them when reporting the issue.
If Levyra crashes repeatedly:
- Update to the latest release.
- Restart the device.
- Reproduce the crash.
- Open an issue with as much information as possible.
Useful details include:
- Levyra version
- Android or Windows version
- Device model
- What you were doing before the crash
- Screenshots or logs, if available
Before opening a new issue, check whether someone has already reported the same problem.
When reporting a new bug, include:
- Levyra version
- Platform
- Device or PC information
- Steps to reproduce the issue
- Expected behavior
- Actual behavior
- Screenshots or screen recordings when useful
The more reproducible the report is, the easier it is to investigate.
Ideas and feature requests are welcome.
Before opening a request, check the existing issues to avoid duplicates.
