Compile Pygafi into an executable

Pygafi is already compiled in the releases. You might use this page here if you want to make modifications of this program.

What you need:

• Git
• Python 3.9.0
• PyInstaller

Clone the repository:

In a terminal, type git clone https://github.com/lariville/pygafi/ It will clone all the elements of this repository into a folder.

Make your modifications:

• GUI Elements are located in the GUI folder, gui.py is the main program, it uses the content of the folder assets.
• Output Generators are located inside the folders Windows-Output-Generators and Windows-Output-Generators.
• Non GUI elements are located in the root of the repository.

Compile it into an executable:

In a terminal, you can run the following command to compile the GUI:

Windows: python3 -m PyInstaller --onefile --noconsole --add-data "assets;assets" gui.py

Linux: python3 -m PyInstaller --onefile --noconsole --add-data "assets:assets" gui.py

--onefile compiles the program into only one file.

--noconsole removes the ability to view the console.

--add-data "assets;assets" includes the folder assets in the program, which is necessary for the program to run.
