A valid proof-carrying candidate has exposed a narrower resource boundary than the current record profile predicts.
Public submission 038cef01-5280-4a9b-b1b8-b367feda4065 repairs the payload digest in public candidate 4e109980-855a-4136-88d9-148e9315bad7. Its 15-hex witness verifies Hc=Hh=4 with corona-5 defect 3/222, zero pockets, for score 4.986486486486487.
The inherited binary DRAT is 150,937,481 bytes decompressed, SHA-256 86c5d643eb73c640aea424184aea5dbf044b9740d7c98aab0f68eeb7e9da9d0d.
The submitted xz container is 23,440,168 bytes.
The vendored local drat-trim also returned s VERIFIED against that exact regenerated formula in 211.981 seconds. The remote result independently confirms the DRAT.
Interpretation
This is not a proof-invalid result. It is a cake_lpr heap failure on an in-band (15 cells, m=5) case. The DRAT path makes drat-trim emit an LRAT against the full 16.85-million-clause formula, which appears to exceed the profile's 24 GiB CakeML heap even though the runner itself has 128 GB RAM.
I am now working on the participant-side remedy: a core-relative LRAT small enough both to reduce cake_lpr memory and to stay under Yukon's 25 MiB compressed archive cap. The originating witness/proof work is by teddyjfpender, who is credited as coauthor on the repaired submission.
Questions / useful follow-up
Please retain this run as a measurement that the current (20,7) record band is not sufficient for every smaller-m instance when submitted through the full-formula DRAT path.
If maintainers can measure the same converted LRAT with a 32 or 48 GiB CakeML heap, that would distinguish a modest profile-cap adjustment from a fundamentally impractical DRAT representation.
A core-LRAT artifact remains preferable because it narrows the trusted checker's input; I will post exact sizes and checker results when that experiment reaches a terminal result.
Until one of those paths passes both required checkers, this candidate is not claimed as a scored SOTA.
