Overlap number row in symbol layout

When I disable the “Number row” option and enable “Show number row in symbol view”, the number row overlaps with the first row of the symbol layout instead of appearing above it. It essentially takes the place of the first row in the symbol layout.

This overlap only happens in the symbol layout. In the more symbols layout, the behavior is the same as in the language layout, and the number row is hidden there.

This bug also exists in HeliBoard.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Go to preferences < Additional Keys and toggle Number row to OFF.
2. Enable the option Show number row in symbol view.
3. Open the keyboard and switch to the Symbol layout (?123).
4. Notice that the number row overlaps the first row of symbols instead of appearing as a separate row above them.

About the trackpad:

I tested it, and it works great — you really created it very well. Thank you so much.

I have a few suggestions for it, and I’ll write them for you in the trackpad topic.

btw i couldnt reproduce the bug, did you have an custom symbol page that exceeds 4 rows or something

No, this bug isn’t related to the number of rows. I just tested it myself: I set the symbol layout row count to 2, 3, and 4 in three different runs.

When my layout had 4 rows, only 3 rows were shown, and the number row came on top of the first row.
When I set it to 3 rows, only 2 rows were visible.
And when my layout had 2 rows, only 1 row was visible.

So it’s not related to the row count. No matter how many rows the symbol layout has, the number row always overlaps the first row and replaces it.

oh you meant the first row of symbol is missing right? after fix you can long press number to reveal that , also you can just edit the second row of symbols to remove the last 2 symbols so it wont moved to number row
