Repeated characters deleted all at once

Problem:
Some characters behave strangely when deleted. When these characters is typed after another, pressing backspace delete them all.

To Reproduce

• Type one of these characters after another ♪•√“”‘’—–⁻★†‡∆≈≠⁼∞‰ (this is only the characters I know.)
• Press backspace on the last character. (Even if you copy the whole list and paste it somewhere, deleting the last character will result on every characters being deleted.)

Expected behavior
Deleting one character will only delete one character.

If you check them as you go you will see that they only start deleting in groups after several are there and then only about three at a time. It is after the ≈≠ that it really kicks in. That is odd.
