We are pleased to announce the release of Unicode® ICU 65.

ICU 65 updates to CLDR 36 locale data with many additions and corrections, and some new measurement units. The Java LocaleMatcher API is improved, and ported to C++. For building ICU data, there are new filtering options, and new tracing support for data loading in ICU4C.

Please test this release candidate on your platforms and report bugs and regressions by Tuesday, 2019-sep-24. Please use the icu-support mailing list and/or find/submit error reports.

We are pleased to announce the release of Unicode® ICU 64.2. It updates to draft Unicode 12.1 data and to CLDR 35.1, adding support for the new Japanese era "Reiwa" (令和) and a special format for the first year of an era in the Japanese locale ("元年" instead of "1年").

This is on top of the recent ICU 64 release which updated to Unicode 12 and to CLDR 35 locale data with many additions and corrections, and some new languages. ICU adds a data filtering/subsetting mechanism, improved formatting API, and a C++ LocaleBuilder.
