Reference Loader

The Reference Loader is a powerful tool designed to inject a reference sprite directly into a target .swf file. This provides a visual background guide, ensuring your mod's proportions and alignments are perfectly accurate.

Reference Loader Interface

Figure 2.1: The Reference Loader module interface, where you configure the target SWF and reference source.

How it Works

  1. Select a Target SWF: Choose the .swf file you want to inject the reference into.

    • 💡 Tip: It is highly recommended to isolate your target skin first using the Sprite Exporter module (SWF Mode) before proceeding.
  2. Prepare Your Reference: By default, the program already includes a preloaded reference. However, you can freely replace it with your own custom reference.

  3. Inject the Guide: Once configured, simply press the "Load references" button.

Warning

The program will directly modify and overwrite the selected destination .swf file. Please ensure you have saved a backup of your previous work before loading the reference!

In Action

Once loaded, you will see a new sprite inside your SWF where your character is built exactly as they will appear in Brawlhalla.

Caution

When exporting your sprites to create a .bmod, remember not to export this reference sprite, or very strange things might happen...
