What levels would you want to specify this on? Per-map, profile, global...?

I was following along the original Google thread at https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!topic/automapper-users/3Sw6u9PQ41o but missed your request there to add an issue, so I'll just contribute here.

Per-map would be fine for us; sometimes we want to use it with just public properties, but in the scenario where we are mapping internal DTOs we want to hide outside the assembly, we'd like to be able to use it there.

Personally, I'd like a global setting. If I'm consuming an API and using an adapter to map its fields into my domain model, I would like to make the web reference that consumes the API an internal one, so that my domain model can't get mixed up with the external DTOs.

Per-map and profile would be nice-to-haves, though.

To be clear, we're also okay with whatever is easiest. Global is what we are doing in our private fork, we didn't make it configurable so it's not submission quality. We just want to rejoin the AutoMapper NuGet family.

Would really love to have internal (and private) properties mappable without resorting to implementing custom mappings for every internal/private property.
