Nice and simple idea really, just a button to replace the image. Means you don't need to retag everything, but more importantly, lets you keep the same URL.

Here's a very quick mockup I made - it looks a bit weird but I didn't want the button to be too similar to Save - it can then just show the regular dialogue box for uploading files, but with a big warning saying this action cannot be reversed:

Yep sorry I don't know how I didn't find #1384 in my searches, although #1384 is a alot more complex idea.

This need to be clarified. Is it the same url as photoId or is it the URL of the actual photo jpeg ?
The first one is way easier than the later one.

I have to be honest, I am not actually sure what the differences are.

In my opinion, from a user perspective, it should be the same URL. What this means is that if I link to this image: https://skyehaynes.me/photos/gallery/Y7NdDxed7g91CtLhPC-Yukf1/P1djlc4cuTghZu6s_rb7HtFa?page=1, when I replace the image, its still accessible. What changes on the backend doesn't matter. What I want could in theory even be done if you added a way for images to have slugs (even if not exposed to the user as an option) - but I don't know enough about how this all works to say.
