I want to add to this repository, contribute to this project but I do not want to touch something that is ok as it is. So those who have gone far in this project, what can I do?

Good question, and the instinct not to churn working code is the right one. Where help is genuinely wanted here:

1. Verified bugs on the issue tracker. The best contributions start from an observed failure, not a hypothetical. If an open issue has a maintainer comment confirming the bug and inviting a PR, that's a green light - but check the thread first: if a PR is already linked or someone was offered first refusal, it's theirs (that's what happened with fix(linkedin-search): reject fractional --jobage/--page/--limit inste… #410).
2. Open an issue before a PR. Reproduce something real from the actual workflow (/scrape, /rank, /apply, the portal CLIs), post the repro, offer the fix. Issue-first with a concrete repro is the pattern that gets merged here - salary_lookup.py: --validate accepts null metadata/categories, then the lookup crashes on it #408 is a model example.
3. The ideas discussions (Idea: one-line fontenc hardening for the pdflatex fallback (accented CVs) #384, Idea: `verify_pdf.py --contains` can't see LaTeX's typographic substitutions #385, Idea: optional live/editable mode for /html-report #332, Idea: shift job matching from title-lookalike matching to 'could this person's experience solve the employer's problem' matching #327) hold proposals that are welcome but unclaimed.
4. What generally doesn't land, so you don't spend effort there: country- or market-specific portal skills (those live in forks - see the pinned Community forks & adaptations #78 and /add-portal), personal-data examples, ports to other AI harnesses, and speculative infrastructure. CONTRIBUTING.md has the full picture.

Testing the real workflows against the template's promises - and filing precise issues when they diverge - is the single most valuable thing a new contributor can do.
