Lost Potential

Image Copyright Alco Products

The C624 was introduced in 1963 along with the C420 and the C424 as part of ALCO's "Century" series. A direct replacement for the RSD-15, the C624 would have sported an all-new carbody design much like it's stablemates. Although none of these units were built, being phased out before the production of the Century series began, artwork depicts the C624 as being very RSD-15-esque.
