Airline Management System (Java & MySQL)

A desktop-based Airline Management System application built with Java for the frontend (Swing/JavaFX) and MySQL as the database backend. This project is designed to enable the management of core airline operations, integrating user-friendly interfaces for both administrators and customers.

Features

  • Flight Management: Add, update, remove, and search for flights.
  • Customer Management: Register customers, view records, search, and update customer information.
  • Booking System: Book new tickets, view booking history, and cancel or modify existing tickets.
  • Administrative Dashboard: User authentication, staff management, statistics, and operational controls.
  • Payments: Handle ticket payments, refunds, and receipts.
  • Airport and Route Management: Define airports, routes, and manage flight schedules.
  • Reports: Generate reports such as flight occupancy, revenue, or customer details.

Getting Started

Prerequisites

Installation

  1. Clone the repository:

    git clone https://github.com/MajidAli2/Airline-Management-System-Java-MySQL.git
  2. Open the project in your preferred Java IDE.

  3. Set up the Database:

    • Create a MySQL database (e.g., airline_db).
    • Import the provided SQL schema & sample data.
      mysql -u <your_username> -p < airline_db_schema.sql
    • Update the database connection settings in the project (look for files or classes like DBConnection.java).
  4. Build and Run:

    • Compile the project in your IDE.
    • Run the main class (e.g., Main.java or AirlineManagementSystem.java).

Usage

  • Start the application and log in as an administrator or staff member.
  • Use the dashboard to access different modules such as Flights, Customers, Bookings, etc.
  • Follow on-screen instructions to operate the different features.
