MAPCO-11282 — move off the alpha branch onto the official v8.3.0 release. Was pinned exactly at 8.3.0-alpha.0; now ^8.3.0. Using fix(deps) rather than deps: release-please does not recognise "deps" as a commit type (it is a Dependabot prefix from .github/dependabot.yaml, never added to changelog-types), so a deps: commit is discarded and no release is ever cut. fix() produces the patch release this ticket asks for. Tests: 18 + 1 passing before and after the bump, run on Node 24 to match CI.
