Mistake and Correction!: The electron-orbit model is not accurate for ground states, only excited states. The ground state of H2+ is better modeled by I still recommend quantum chemistry go in the direction of rendering exact positions of electrons. Lewis and Langmuir were accurate. |

Hi programmers, quantum chemistry has spent much effort estimating probability densities of electrons, but I think the future should be in the direction of rendering exact positions of electrons.
For example, I have figured out real xyz electron positions for H2+, using only classical Coulomb force.
(slow)
(fast)
The simulated system has a total of -2.6 * 10^-18 joules. Again, the only force in the simulation is classical Coulomb force.
