[Bug] Switching channels doesn't always drop you where you left off.

Describe the bug
Sometimes when switching channels I am not dropped at the last unread message but several screen further up. It's not 100% reproducible however and I haven't nailed down the exact conditions to reproduce yet

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Switch channels
2. See that the screen displays messages from december

Expected behavior
If I am revisiting a channel, I should be dropped with the most recent new message on the screen. If I am visiting a channel for the first time, I should be dropped at the bottom of the channel.
