Friend Request Notification - UX

Bug:
When getting a friend request the home/direct messages icon gets updated to reflect a change the "pending" section doesn't get one making it unclear what notification came in.


Steps to reproduce the behavior:
1. Get a friend request
2. Click DM/Home tab
3. See missing (#) from pending
