it is unclear how Maui Resources should be handled:

are they just plain Assembly.GetManifestResourceStream ?

I’m currently working through the Samples project, and I’ve noticed that it’s set up to load images marked as MauiImage from the file system Folder (bin/Debug), like under Windows.

According to ChatGPT, it should be enough to create a Directory.Build.targets file to achieve this behavior, but I’m not sure if that’s the best approach.

Here’s the code snippet from FileSystemUtils (FileSystem.Gtk.cs):

Trys first from Output Folder (bin/Debug) than from DLL resource (embeded resource)

But in my Opinion make it as easy as possible, i think i will try it this weekend with Directory.Build.targets

Ok i have a working Solution implemented for MauiImage, i have changed the Workflow a bit.
Now i look about the other Maui Build Actions, currently MauiFonts but it looks like there is a bit more to do to get it fully running, so i decided to bring it only into the workflow/SDK so that it's packaged

And then i go on with resizetizer related Build Actions (MauiIcon, MauiSplashScreen)

after that i will look about MauiAssets and MauiCss

My changes on maui-linux are pushed (in my fork), my workload needs first a cleanup ;-)

Now we have a header image in controls.sample also prepared for MauiFont and MauiSplashScreen
MauiImage and MauiAsset are fully working as i can see
