A simple melody

The start of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, one instrument, one note per step. The G4:2 and C4:2 at the end of each line last twice as long.

A melody with a bass

The same melody with a second part. The bass plays one note every 2 steps, so both parts are 16 steps long and end together.

Chords

Notes joined with + play together. Here, four chords of 4 steps each (C, F, G, C), with a drum beat in a second part.

A round with two voices

The start of Frère Jacques as a round: the second voice plays the same notes, but starts 8 steps later with a rest (-:8). Both voices use the same instrument, they are just two parts.

        "-:8",

        "E4", "F4", "G4:2", "E4", "F4", "G4:2"
      ]
    }
  ]
}

Try changing the second instrument to flute to hear each voice better, or the rest to -:4 to hear how the round changes.
