Folders sync

Synchronizes two folders: source and replica.

How to Run It

Using python:

python sync.py source_folder replica_folder 60 sync.log

Using uv:

uv run python sync.py source_folder replica_folder 60 sync.log

What Happens?

Every 60 seconds (or whatever interval you set), the script: Compares source_folder and replica_folder. Copies missing or changed files from source to replica. Removes extra files from replica that are not in source. Logs all actions to sync.log.

How to Get Help

To display the help message with available arguments, run:

python sync.py --help

or

uv run python sync.py --help

This will show details about required parameters and usage instructions.

Thanks in advance

P.S.

Additionally, I’ve included a sync_log file as an an example of my struggle with application logic and log formatting, and it has also been added to .gitignore to avoid unnecessary commits.

Also, take a look at my other project test-run-monitor. It’s a web application I built entirely by myself, including both frontend and backend. This project is an excellent fit for mentoring junior SDET and for learning how Docker works with applications and tests. The main idea behind the project is to run tests for each application run and collect the results in one place, providing a comprehensive report. It's a highly effective solution for staging environments, reducing release testing time by up to ~30%.
