Latest stable psyclone error

Hi, since updating with the latest stable version, my two active lfric_apps branches both have this error:

ImportError: cannot import name 'OMPParallelTrans' from 'psyclone.psyir.transformations' (/common/internal/spack/releases/2025.10.1/install/linux-sles15-zen3/gcc-12.2.0/py-psyclone-3.2.2-7ewjcmpqljenseuxkitmlvqhpkztqs6o/lib/python3.10/site-packages/psyclone/psyir/transformations/__init__.py)
make[1]: *** [/lustre/ehz2res/research/data/users/byron.blay/cylc-run/u-dz296/run2/share/source/lfric_core/infrastructure/build/psyclone/psyclone_psykal.mk:53: /var/tmp/pbs.5377657.ehz200/lfric_atm/algorithm/skeb_main_alg_mod.f90] Error 1

I've checked these branches do still work at the commit before i merged in the latest stable changes, using 2026.03.2 in the suite deps.

Anyone else getting this? Any thoughts? Many thanks in advance.

Hi Byron. If you're looking to upgrade a suite, you'll need to update the module load commands that you have. You can check whether any have changed by checking the suite_config_*.cylc file in the lfric rose-stem.
You'll likely also need to update your rose app file to use the latest metadata. You can do this by running rose app-upgrade -a -y -C path/to/app vnX.Y

Thanks James. The suite only has three module load commands.

                        module load PrgEnv-gnu
                        module load gcc/12.2.0
                        module load lfric-gnu/12.2.0/3.1 || true

The only difference with your link is lfric-gnu/12.2.0/3.2. But if I change mine to 3.2, I get:

Lmod has detected the following error: The following module(s) are unknown:
"lfric-gnu/12.2.0/3.2"

I don't yet have enough knowledge of all this to reason about it further, sorry.

I wonder if there's a new suite, like dn-704, which works with the new stable? Might be easier to just copy that.

That's not quite right. For the gnu stack, you need,

module use /common/internal/spack/releases/2026.7.1/ngms
module switch cpe/22.11 cpe/23.05
module load PrgEnv-gnu
module load gcc/12.2.0
module load cray-mpich/8.1.27
module load lfric-gnu/12.2.0/3.2 || true
