  • Architecture: describe seamless stream movement between shards Spreading, consolidating, and rebalancing are all done by moving streams between shards, with no data loss and no stale-data window - seamless and transparent to applications. • Architecture: per-stream images, I/O+CPU startup burst, policy-defined ceiling, assign-at-connect Each stream in a result gets its own initial image; the startup burst is heavy on I/O and CPU. Reword to 'the set of streams in a result is delivered over shards' and 'policy-defined capacity ceiling'. Conflation now reads as a rule assigned to the session at connect time, consistent with the cookbook. • Architecture: lead delivery scaling with startup; fix conflation-rule wording Order the delivery-scaling subsection startup-first, then through-the-day scaling. Reword conflation so rules read as static configuration that sessions match, not a dynamic per-consumer assignment. • Architecture: align slow-consumer wording to the connection/stream model Congestion is measured per connection (shard), which carries multiple update streams; correct the wording throughout accordingly. Delivery scaling adds connections to spread streams; conflation collapses per-row updates. Reword so scaling reads as capacity to keep up rather than a higher update rate, and add the startup behaviour: starting on more shards for the initial image burst, then consolidating as the images finish and the runtime warms up. • Cookbook: tighten slow-consumer wording Reword the intro and delivery-scaling description for clarity, use "settings" and "resources" consistently in place of internal terms, and add a lead sentence to the conflation section noting it is a last resort that degrades tick-by-tick updates. • Slow-consumer protection: cover delivery scaling and conflation Broaden the slow-consumer coverage to both automatic delivery scaling (shard orchestration and rebalancing) and conflation. - Architecture: present both mechanisms and how they complement each other. - Cookbook: rename to "Configuration Cookbook: Slow Consumer Protection" with configuration for both; document the result-policy tunables and file location; correct the 1000ms conflation example and drop the obsolete orchestrationMarkFraction field. - Fix internal links and the sidebar entry for the renamed page. • Add Configuration Cookbook: Configure Conflation Rules New cookbook page documenting deployment-config/resources/conflation-rules/rules.json - the expressions/policies/rules libraries, the three shipped policies, worked examples for a catch-all, an application override, and a per-consumer cadence, priority resolution, and how to verify loaded rules over the gateway REST API. Added to the sidebar directly after Configure DACS. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_017aV4rcuYnv4rUf3adqG7gj

  • Cross-link Configure DACS from the remaining real-MDS cookbook pages Fine-Grained, Static MDS with Compute, and Scalable MDS all deploy a real MDS projector tier, so they get the same DACS pointer Static MDS already has in "Going further". Demo stays excluded - it runs the simulator, not a real entitled feed. • Add Configuration Cookbook: Configure DACS New page walks an operator through turning on Refinitiv's Data Access Control System for real entitled market data - off by default, so the two switches (disabled, daemonLocation) in deployment.properties plus a pointer to the full settings/reference files for everything else. Listed first in the Configuration Cookbook nav group, and cross-linked from Static MDS's "Going further" for the audience that needs it: existing MetaFluent users bringing up a real feed. • Quick Start: make Step 3 reference-based instead of inlining a compose file Step 3 no longer duplicates a docker-compose.yml or a "five services" description - both audience-fork branches now just point at their cookbook page's Docker section (Static MDS's, plus its "Use a simulator" section for data to watch; the Demo's). Step 5's health-check example is updated to match what the Static MDS Docker section plus simulator actually reports: the two feed-partitioned projectors (mf-projector-mds-bpipe/-other) in place of the single mf-projector-mds placeholder. • Real health-check examples, gateway role: n/a note, and cookbook health cross-links Operations-Monitoring's "Is the system healthy?" example swaps the mf-mds-consolidated + mf-eta-simulator placeholder for a real Static MDS response (gateway, core services, two feed-partitioned projectors, admin) and rewords the lead-in now that the gateway correctly shows role: n/a rather than ACTIVE. Quick Start's Step 5 example gets the same n/a correction plus a short note that it is normal, not a problem. Each Deployment Cookbook page (Static MDS, Fine-Grained, Static MDS with Compute, Scalable MDS, Demo) gets a "Confirm it's running" pointer to that same health-check section in its Where to go next list. • Quick Start: default to Static MDS instead of the Demo Step 3 now forks by audience: existing MetaFluent users and anyone upgrading start with Static MDS (the real deployment shape - gateway, admin, core services, one MDS projector, and the simulator feeding it - run single-host with an inline, self-contained docker-compose.yml), while newcomers comfortable with Docker can take the faster Demo path instead. The rest of the guide follows Static MDS by default, with the Demo delta called out where it actually differs (the health-check component list). Reframes the intro banner and closing section to match: this single-host setup already has the real deployment shape - the simulator is the only throwaway piece - and growing it means adding capacity and spreading across machines (Fine-Grained, Scalable MDS), not starting over. The Demo remains the pure evaluation peek for readers who took that path. • Cookbook: update ETA server callout for the new localhost default + env var Blueprint 6.4.0 changes manager.etaServerHost's default to localhost and adds an METAFLUENT_ETA_SERVER_HOST environment-variable override, so the callout added across the cookbook pages no longer applies: there's no more placeholder default that fails to resolve, and an env var now exists. Rewrites the callout on Static MDS, Fine-Grained, Scalable, and Demo to the simpler, positive framing (nothing to set for a same-host feed; set METAFLUENT_ETA_SERVER_HOST for a remote one), simplifies both simulator notes to "nothing to set" since the simulator is already reachable at the localhost default, and updates the one-line pointer on Static MDS with Compute to match. • Cookbook: callout for pointing the ETA/MDS projector at its ETA server The shipped etaServerHost default (eta-server-host) is a placeholder that will not resolve until the operator sets it, and there is no environment- variable override for this one (unlike the gateway host) - it has to be set in deployment-config/. Adds a consistent callout to the Conventional install steps on Static MDS and Fine-Grained, a simulator note on both (the simulator is the ETA server, so etaServerHost=localhost), a callout on Scalable pointing at baking it into the image (projector instances are created dynamically by the container manager, so there's no per-instance step), a callout on Demo's config step, and a one-line pointer from Static MDS with Compute back to the Static MDS callout instead of duplicating it. • Point cookbook topology links at their specific Architecture: Advanced subsection Static MDS, Fine-Grained, Demo, and Scalable each linked to the top of Architecture-Advanced's "Deployment topologies" section (or, for Scalable, to the unrelated Auto-scaling section) instead of the specific topology subsection they deploy. Fixes the intro "This is the X topology" line and the "Where to go next" line on each page to point at the matching subsection anchor. • Deployment-Advanced: Conventional host install replaces the Eclipse bullet The "Deployment topologies" networking breakdown named an Eclipse/developer mode, an internal dev-build concern with no place in customer docs. Replaces it with a Conventional (host install) bullet - the primary run method - and rebalances the section's opening line so conventional, Docker, and Kubernetes read as peer run methods rather than positioning Docker compositions as the templates. The new bullet folds in the local/same-host case the Eclipse bullet used to cover. • Reframe Docker-centric wording so the conventional path is a first-class option Deployment-Basics.md's "What a deployment is made of" now opens with the substrate-neutral framing (conventional / Docker / Kubernetes all run the same base image and deployment-config), and "Running a deployment" leads with that same three-way framing before presenting the deploy-mf-<service> / scripts/start workflow as one way to bring a service up under Docker, pointing to the Cookbook and Deployment: Without Docker for the other two. Sweeps the rest of the wiki for the same assumption: Architecture-Advanced mentions systemd alongside Docker/Kubernetes for automatic restart and infra-component restart, and drops "container" as the implied only unit for per-instance role reporting, topology packaging, and the operational instance count. Configuration-Basics, Configuration-Advanced, and Deployment-Advanced add the conventional option alongside Docker/Kubernetes where a mounted-config or single-network example only named Docker. Configuration-Reference notes the Docker-free way to read the annotated defaults from an installation package. Image-Catalog and Cookbook-Enable- Tokens swap a couple of "container"/"in a container" phrasings for substrate-neutral wording. Glossary's Composition entry points at the Demo cookbook page instead of a no-longer-used "consolidated composition" name. • Add Demo cookbook page, hyphenate Fine-Grained, and clean up cookbook prose Adds a greatly simplified Demo entry to the Deployment Cookbook (consolidated image + simulator, laptop/lab-friendly), moves the cookbook group ahead of Concepts in the sidebar since customers install before reading background, and points Quick Start at the new cookbook instead of an inline Docker Compose clone. Also tightens wording across the cookbook pages: consistent "Fine-Grained" hyphenation, substrate-neutral phrasing instead of "in its own container", and removes an internal-guidance sentence and a Docker-only implication from the Fine-Grained intro.
