5. Team Roster
The team members for the TripView app are as follows: Manush Gopal, Hanif Jilani, Ryan Kirby, Ethan McIntyre, Gabriel Mora, Austin Ngan, Jade Redmond, and Musabbiha Zaheer. This roster brings together a diverse set of experiences in Kotlin, Python, and other technologies used in the tech stack of the app.
Each team member's contributions are outlined in the following paragraphs.
Manush contributed to the Python backend and documentation of the project's Wiki. Collaborated with fellow backend engineer Hanif on Flask API routes.
Hanif worked extensively on the Flask backend for TripView, including designing and implementing API routes, configuring and managing the database layer, and building the AI-powered endpoints responsible for generating trip plans.
Ryan worked across the full stack, implementing map-based functionality in the app such as visualization of trip stops, showing driving route between stops, and stop information from the Google Places API. Ryan also worked on page routing on the frontend, sign-in, and the demo flow.
Ethan worked on both front-end and back-end parts. He implemented the front-end API code that reliably called and handled errors from the back-end. He implemented many of the reusable View Models which connect the API to the components, including ActiveTrips, CompletedTrips, FriendsTrips, Friends, Invites, Relationship, Stop, Trip, and User. He implemented the Manage Profile, Manage Friends and Share Itineraries features. He collaborated on the Draggable List components and the Trip Creation process. He debugged features including Archive Trips, Screen Navigation, and Editing Itineraries. He collaborated on shaping the back-end database to sync with the front-end API and adjusted many flask endpoints while debugging. Ethan also started the habit of writing down google doc meeting notes every time the team met in order to keep non-present members in the loop and updated. He also stitched, edited, and uploaded the videos for the Best Moments, Skeletal Demo, and MVP Demo.
Gabriel was a member of the backend team specializing in feature development, 3rd part API integration, and project management tasks. Gabriel collaborated with Jade on delivering "Landmark Identification and Location-Based Context" by integrating gemini-2.5-flash's image identification capabilities with location data to return relevant tour-guide style context. Gabriel also collaborated with Jade in developing a chatbot to process user queries on an itinerary and stream responses back to the client using SSEs for performance. Gabriel also led a merge effort to reconcile complex branch divergences ahead of our first project milestone, helping keep project on track.
Austin worked on the app's frontend and UI, as well as implementing backend routes related to the itinerary screens. He built screens and components defined by the team's Figma.
Jade contributed to the app's frontend, UI and documentation. She built components and screens using Figma references as well as kept the Trello board and UI/UX wiki updated.
Musabbiha contributed to the app's frontend and UI, building components and screens as defined in the Figma. She also contributed to documentation and kept the UI/UX wiki updated.
