AI-native proof registry. Record what changed, why it matters, and who stands behind it.
Metistry is the trust layer beneath platforms, funds, provenance systems, and communities that need to record value accurately, attribute contributions fairly, and prove that commitments were kept. Every record captures what changed, the proof that the change was real, and who stands behind it. No consensus layer. No history replay. Current state is held directly and is queryable now.
This organization is the open home of Metistry: the specification, the developer SDK and CLI, an MCP server, and a conformance suite anyone can run.

Traditional systems store records but not proof. Blockchain adds proof, but in a form built for a different philosophy: public, fee-bearing, and optimized for speculation rather than stewardship. Metistry takes the path accountable institutions already practice.
- Records carry their own proof. An auditor can verify independently rather than trust a PDF.
- Accountability binds to responsible parties, not to anonymous addresses.
- Privacy is structural. Data stays in the environment it belongs to. Only proof crosses the boundary.
- Recording costs nothing at the ledger layer. A vote, a volunteer hour, or a micro-transaction can all be captured without fees compounding against the value itself.

Proof of Work burns energy. Proof of Stake locks capital. Proof of Change proves that real-world evidence converged to establish a claim, and records how. At its core is the Nexus Seal, a patent-pending artifact that binds a state change to the evidence establishing its validity. Not a hash. A hash shows content was not altered but says nothing about whether it is true. The Nexus Seal shows the required evidence actually converged.
Metistry is built to be embedded, extended, and built upon.
- Ledger. Every entry follows the PROVES structure and is self-contained, so current state reads without traversal or replay.
- Lattice. A relational context layer for AI-native reasoning, where schema emerges through use rather than being imposed up front.
- Concordance. The coordination layer that governs how reasoning and proof work as one, and how AI agents act within graduated authority.
- MQL. One SQL-compatible query language across the whole stack. Existing database skills transfer. No new paradigm to learn.
- Governed Envoys. AI agents that operate within scoped authority. Capability and autonomy are set separately, and autonomy is earned through demonstrated reliability rather than assumed from capability.
The full quickstart, SDK, CLI, MCP server, and conformance suite live in the main repo.
Metistry is live infrastructure, not a concept.
- Exchange Reserve reconciles value across independent platforms while preserving each participant's sovereignty.
- LocalFund maintains verifiable records for community-rooted funds and coordinates capital across them.
- Anchorship tracks community health indicators and maps the contributions that drive local resilience.
- Origineer gives creators an unbroken chain of proof from origin to impact.
- Accountability is mutual. Everyone is accountable to the terms they agreed to. The record protects the relationship, not the platform.
- AI must earn authority. Capability is not permission. Autonomy is earned.
- Access without extraction. Recording value should not cost the people creating it.
- Privacy is architectural. Sovereignty is structural, not a policy that can be revoked or held for ransom.
- Trust compounds. Every verified record builds on the last. The institutions and communities that build trust should harvest it.
The specification and the tooling in this organization are open, released under the Apache License 2.0. You can read the spec, build against it, run the conformance suite, and verify proofs independently. The engine that runs the reasoning is offered as a service through dev.metistry.org.
The open work is held in stewardship through the Legacy Impact Futures Trust, so the standard belongs to the institutions and communities that build on it, not to any single company or person. That is the point. Infrastructure for accountable institutions should be accountable itself, and built to outlast any one of us.
Metistry is AI-native infrastructure that unlocks Legacy Futures.
