Hi, I know DietPi is handling networking on its own, using its own dietpi-config. In my case I have one machine running DietPi with Gnome installed and hooked up to a TV. It would be nice to be able to handle networking, including some VPN connections, through the Gnome desktop, which would then require network-manager and various other packages to be installed. That said, before I go ahead and do that and potentially break my installation, I wanted to check if there are any known issues around having network-manager installed, or if there are any other suggestions around this topic. If anyone knows and/or have suggestions, I'd really appreciate some feedback. Thanks in advance. |

No problem with that. Just install NetworkManager, remove
ifupdownor/etc/network/interfaces, and of course do not attempt to set/change network settings viadietpi-configafterwards. DietPi is Debian, so you can use any network stack available on Debian, or install anything else as you want.dietpi-configis an offer, no enforcement.
