Elysio is a web-based dating application concept developed within a simulated startup environment. The objective is to design and plan a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that addresses common issues in modern dating platforms such as fake profiles, low trust, and endless text-based communication.
Instead of relying on swiping and prolonged messaging, Elysio connects users directly through real-time video interaction, enabling immediate and authentic first impressions.
The project simulates startup conditions, focusing on product planning, prioritization, teamwork, and documentation to produce a realistic and professionally structured MVP concept.
npm installnpx expo startMany dating platforms feel repetitive and artificial. Users invest time in conversations that often do not lead to real connections. This results in frustration and declining trust in digital dating solutions.
The project explores whether digital dating can become more authentic and human by prioritizing real-time interaction.
Developed as part of the IPT-9.1 module, the project follows a startup-style workflow where the team independently organizes planning, responsibilities, documentation, and outcomes.
Most platforms rely on profile images and text chats, often leading to unrealistic expectations and fake profiles. Conversations frequently end without meeting in real life.
Elysio introduces instant video-based matching, allowing users to see and speak with each other immediately, encouraging natural communication.
Elysio removes unnecessary complexity and focuses on authenticity:
- No endless swiping
- No heavily filtered profiles
- Immediate real interaction
- Fast and respectful matching flow
Design and document a functional MVP that clearly demonstrates the concept of Elysio.
- Deliver a working MVP concept within the project timeline
- Provide structured documentation and prototype designs
- Demonstrate feasibility through clear product definition
- Focus strictly on essential features
- User onboarding and account creation
- Basic profile setup
- Matching flow
- Live video interaction
- Clean and intuitive user interface
To maintain focus, advanced features such as complex monetization systems, large moderation infrastructures, and extensive backend systems are excluded from the MVP scope.

Major decisions are discussed collaboratively to ensure balanced perspectives and shared responsibility within the team.
The team works in short iterative phases similar to sprints, enabling continuous improvement and flexible adaptation to challenges.
Regular progress reviews help identify obstacles early and ensure constant improvement in workflow and collaboration.
Tasks are organized by priority levels:
- High Priority: Essential tasks required for MVP functionality
- Medium Priority: Improvements enhancing usability
- Low Priority: Optional features implemented if time allows
- Lowest Priority: Additional ideas not required for MVP delivery
This structure helps maintain focus and ensures successful completion within the available timeframe.
The project was divided into manageable tasks such as concept development, design creation, documentation, and feature planning to maintain clear responsibilities and steady progress.
Regular evaluation sessions support realistic planning adjustments and collaborative problem-solving.
Key functional areas include:
- User onboarding and registration
- Profile creation and editing
- Matching and discovery flow
- Live video interaction
- Messaging and communication
- Premium feature concepts
- Subscription and payment considerations
- Safety and moderation mechanisms
- Notifications
- Account and privacy settings
- Overall user experience and product feel
Weekly meetings ensure transparency, responsibility, and consistent project progress. Open feedback is encouraged to maintain strong collaboration.
Elysio is designed as a web-based application concept prioritizing usability, simplicity, and scalability.
Modern design and development tools are used to ensure realistic feasibility, including prototyping platforms and contemporary web technologies.
This project provided practical experience in transforming an initial concept into a structured MVP within a realistic startup environment. Beyond technical development, the team strengthened collaboration skills, planning strategies, and entrepreneurial thinking.
Elysio demonstrates how a focused concept centered on authenticity and direct interaction can differentiate itself within the dating app market. The resulting MVP shows strong potential for further development and real-world application.
The project successfully fulfills the objectives of the IPT-9.1 module and prepares the team for future ICT and product development projects.
