Audex 1.1.4

The biggest feature release yet — an on-device Listening Report, Discord Rich Presence, a real-waveform progress bar, and bundled ffmpeg so downloads work everywhere.

📊 New: Listening Report

A full Report tab that turns your listening history into stats — computed entirely on your device, nothing leaves your machine.

  • Switch between Day / Month / Year / All time periods.
  • Listening time with a comparison against the previous period, plus tracks played, artists, additions to your collection and your current listening streak.
  • A "When you listen" clock showing your activity across the 24 hours of the day.
  • Top Artists and Top Tracks cards with play counts and album art. (This release also fixes those album previews not always loading.)

🎮 New: Discord Rich Presence

Show friends what you're listening to right on your Discord profile.

  • Displays the current track, artist and album cover, an optional elapsed/remaining timer, and up to two custom buttons (e.g. a link to the track).
  • Album covers are resolved as public artwork via the iTunes Search API, so they show up even for tracks without embedded cover art.
  • Fully configurable in Settings → Discord (cover, timer and buttons can each be toggled).

🎚️ New: Waveform progress bar

The progress bar now renders the track's real audio waveform (computed from actual audio peaks) in both the bottom playbar and the fullscreen player.

🐛 Fixes & improvements

  • Bundled ffmpeg — YouTube downloads now work out of the box on macOS (and anywhere without a system ffmpeg), instead of failing during MP3 conversion.
  • Album previews in the Listening Report now load reliably — covers for tracks you hadn't scrolled to or played this session are parsed on demand and the report re-renders once they arrive.
  • The volume slider stays visible on narrow windows instead of being dropped.
  • Tuned the Listening Report periods and fixed the play count for tracks added before the report shipped.

Notes

Builds are unsigned:

  • macOS — right-click the app → Open, or run xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Audex.app.
  • Windows — SmartScreen may warn on first launch; click More info → Run anyway.

Linux (AppImage + .deb), macOS (.dmg/.zip, Apple Silicon) and Windows (installer/.zip) builds are attached below.
