🚀 Release v2.1.0 – Backend Integration with Convex

🔗 What’s New

We’ve successfully integrated a backend using Convex to handle authentication and user management. This marks a big step forward in making our app functional and scalable.

✨ Features Added

  • User Registration / Create Account

    • New users can now register with username, email, and password.
    • Automatic createdAt timestamp is saved when the account is created.
  • User Login

    • Users can log in securely with their registered email/username and password.
    • Authentication checks are handled through Convex queries.

🛠 Schema Updates

We added a users table with indexes for fast lookups:

import { defineSchema, defineTable } from "convex/server";
import { v } from "convex/values";

export default defineSchema({
  users: defineTable({
    username: v.string(),
    email: v.string(),
    password: v.string(),
    createdAt: v.number(),
  })
    .index("byEmail", ["email"])
    .index("byUsername", ["username"]),
});

✅ Improvements

  • Backend now supports structured user data.
  • Faster queries using byEmail and byUsername indexes.
  • Foundation set for adding more features like profile management and sessions.
