Is this feature necessary? A user could simply crop the image beforehand and then insert the cropped version.

If this functionality is considered necessary, I would like to work on it if its open. My approach would be adding a “Crop” option Right Click on the Image -> Crop. After selecting it, the user could adjust the cropping area interactively, similar to how image resizing currently works.

It should work similarly to the image cropping feature in Word. However, this may be somewhat difficult to implement, but you can try and see if you can complete it.
