Release Notes
Added
slate doctor ghostty now reports Ghostty config entry candidates, selected
entry, Slate-managed reference counts, and duplicate refs that can trigger
Ghostty cycle detected errors.
slate doctor ghostty also runs Ghostty's own +validate-config when it can
safely validate the current HOME, surfacing the exact config parser errors.
slate doctor ghostty --json now emits a machine-readable report for
automated checks and scripts.
slate doctor ghostty now distinguishes duplicate Slate-managed refs from
plain Ghostty config-file cycles, including self-referential dotfile loops.
slate doctor ghostty now explains why a Ghostty entry was selected and
exposes each candidate's load-order index in text and JSON output.
slate doctor ghostty now reports which Ghostty binary was used for
+validate-config, making PATH and .app bundle resolution easier to debug.
Fixed
- Ghostty managed themes now pin
window-theme to the active Slate theme
appearance and use the transparent macOS titlebar style, keeping window
chrome visually attached to Slate's light and dark terminal backgrounds.
- Ghostty integration and font detection now follow Ghostty's load order across
config.ghostty, legacy config, and macOS App Support candidates.
- Ghostty integration now targets the last-loaded existing config file and
slate clean removes Slate references from every Ghostty config candidate.
- Ghostty theme/font applies now remove duplicate Slate-owned references from
other Ghostty config candidates, avoiding cycle detected errors when XDG
and macOS App Support configs both exist.
- Ghostty theme applies now rebuild the selected config entry's Slate refs as a
complete set in one pass, reducing partial-ref states if a later cleanup write
fails.
- Ghostty ref rebuilding is now tested against symlinked entry configs so
dotfile-managed Ghostty configs keep their links intact.
- Restore snapshots now track each Ghostty config candidate separately so
multi-root Ghostty setups can be rolled back accurately.
slate clean now preserves the user override tier at ~/.config/slate/user
while removing Slate-owned generated state.
slate font now reports which terminal config refs were actually updated
and which were skipped because their entry config is missing or unlinked.
slate theme <name> now warns when installed tools such as Ghostty are
skipped because their integration config is missing, instead of implying the
terminal app changed silently.
- Shell integration files now quote PATH membership checks correctly when
Slate-managed paths contain spaces.
slate set --quiet now stays silent like slate theme --quiet.
- Ghostty font detection now ignores style-specific keys such as
font-family-bold when resolving the primary font.
