[regression] FFmpeg can't create timelapse files

This issue causing motion to exit at 00:00 when new timelapse file is created
If timelapse file exists - it will open fine and motion will continue

That implies to me it's a permissions error; are you sure motion has write permission for /home/ubuntu/cam0/ ? Is there anything unusual about that directory (nfs mount or such?)

Running as root, it's just EXT4 home dir. This set up working fine and creating timelapse using previous version of motion

Weird, perhaps you can try a git bisect between fd5e9eb and 1cf2c2e to find which change broke it?

Thanks for finding the commit point. This was a historical problem that just revealed itself with the error checking that was implemented in the commit to eliminate the warnings. A new commit has been pushed that addresses the container vs codec conflict that existed. I will also be considering and testing whether we need to change the extension of swf to something else since this is really a mpeg2 video and not a shock wave flash.

Yes, swf extension is wrong. So my script renames timelapse at midnight
We can reopen this bug: #44
