SnackBar becomes stuck open, cannot close it.

During typical use of a basic app, moving between fragments i'm left with this:

No way of removing it without restarting the app.

Are you clearing the snacks by calling mSnackBar.clear(); at any point in time? And are you referencing your activity statically or via getActivity()?

I AM initializing it like that yes, i'm using the snack bar in a fragment so this is my best means of getting a context, what should i use instead?

Same problem here. Looks like problem with more fragments. Let's say I use it in fragment that implement viewpager. In that case the problem occur. When I use it in "top" fragment, like in page of viewpager it works fine.

Issue solved! The problem was that I initialized multiple SnackBars in single activity! Multiple fragments, but the same activity.

Solution:

1. make member variable in activity:

private SnackBar mSnackBar;

2. initialize it in onCreate():

mSnackBar = new SnackBar(this);

3. make getter:

public SnackBar getSnackBar() { return mSnackBar; }

4. use it in fragments like that:

((ProfileActivity) getActivity()).getSnackBar().show("Smile up!");

You can use Tuxileros method above if you want the same snackBar and messages between fragments. If you want each fragment to have its own then you can use the new constructor

SnackBar mSnackBar = new SnackBar(getApplicationContext(), root);

And add the following to the root layout

    <TextView
