Just a quick update on my vouch request. I've been working on #2640 and have now completed the implementation and pushed the branch to my fork. I've had some breif discussions with rhuss and kvnloo around the implementation, and they've both offered to review and test the changes. The code is ready for review, but I'm holding off opening the PR until the vouch process is complete. I'd appreciate it if a maintainer could have a look at my request when they get a chance. What do you want to work on?
I'm currently working on a safe concurrent agent execution mesh.
I've been studying OpenShell and would like to contribute upstream, issue #4009 caught my attention because it overlaps with a problem I've already worked on.
I believe an observation from an old execution must not later affect a replacement execution.
I'm interested first in the design and regression tests, then implementation if maintainers agree on the direction.
I'm interested in preserving execution identity across time and revalidating it immediately before an effect occurs.
Why this change?
Event-driven controllers can act on information that was correct when observed but has become stale.
If execution A has been replaced by execution B, an action based on A should never accidentally affect B. I think the system should carry only enough trustworthy execution identity to bind the observation to the intended target, then revalidate at the mutation boundary. Stale or unverifiable state should fail safely rather than silently falling back to an unconditional operation.
I think this would make OpenShell safer for autonomous/event-driven agent controllers.
