Installation and initial setup

Requirements

• Android 10 or later
• Shizuku
• Wireless debugging or ADB to start Shizuku

If any part of the Shizuku setup is unclear, follow Start via wireless debugging in the official Shizuku setup guide.

Install

Download and install the APK from GitHub Releases. The Google Play release is currently under review.

Initial setup

1. Read and accept the system-feature notice.
2. Install and open Shizuku.
3. Follow Shizuku's pairing procedure and start its service.
4. Return to Dextop and verify the Shizuku connection.
5. Grant Dextop permission in Shizuku.
6. Review the detected device, Android version, display size, and desktop environment.
7. Complete the gesture demonstration.

The Home screen displays Dextop is ready only when Shizuku, its permission, and required system access are available.

Updating

Install a newer APK over the existing installation. Official releases use the same signing certificate, so settings and workspaces are retained.
