The land-based wind supply curves were updated with the last version (v2025.2.0) after a bug was fixed in the reV land-based wind runs. The bug resulted in wind having zero losses, instead of the intended losses of ~11%. Fixing the bug caused wind capacity factors to go down in ReEDS inputs.
If you're not using the latest version of ReEDS, it's recommended to update to at least v2025.2.0, as it includes this fix.
The reference reV CF and LCOE comparisons can be seen below, showing that CF is lower and LCOE is higher with the update.
ReEDS was run before and after this fix with the default settings in cases.csv. Top line generation results are shown for both Reference and Limited. New land-based wind is 300 TWh (17%) lower in 2035 and 280 TWh (12%) lower in 2050. Note, the old Reference hits the IRA CO2 trigger, while the new Reference does not.
