Exit code 243 when trying to run/install/update/add

I can no longer update platforms, add platforms back after removing them, run emulators.
I keep getting the following error messages (see below) when I try to run, install, update or add. When I run tns doctor, all it tells me is there's an update available for tns-ios (3.2.0)

Error message I get when I try: tns run ios OR tns run android:
Unable to apply changes on device: ###### Error is: Command npm install tns-ios@3.0.0 --silent --save-exact --save failed with exit code 243.

Error message i get when I try to add ios platform:
Command npm install tns-ios@3.0.0 --silent --save-exact --save failed with exit code 243

Is there code involved? If so, please share the minimal amount of code needed to recreate the problem.

@dbay920 the exact error code was reproduced here - perhaps you can verify that your NativeScript is installed globally with a -g flag.

Yes, npm was installed globally. My current workaround was to clone my app's github repo into a new folder, everything seems to be working now. FYI, this 243 error coincided with me installing and running Appium, not sure if it had anything to do with the npm/nativescript cli issues or just a coincidence.
