Show contacts even without phone number

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I was looking for a contact without a phone number and couldn't find it. I thought it was a bug and was ready to write a bug report. But I saw in the doc - Contact doesn't have a phone number that this is a feature, or at least a known limitation. :)

Is it possible to improve the contact search by adding at least the email details?

Would you be able to contribute code?
I never try to build KISS on my computer, but if this feature request is simple enough for a junior dev with Android I can imagine jumping in.
