Metadata Preflight v0.7.0

This release adds selectable audio metadata removal.

Metadata Preflight can now create metadata-removed audio copies while letting you choose which metadata categories to remove.
Original files are never modified.

  • Added category-based cleanup options for audio files
  • Added support for saving cleaned copies of:
    • MP3
    • WAV
    • FLAC
    • M4A
    • AIFF / AIF
  • Added audio cleanup support for single files and batch processing
  • Added post-save recheck with ExifTool
  • Added saved file path display and Finder / Explorer reveal support
  • Updated batch save wording to clarify that supported files are exported
  • Original audio files are not modified
  • Audio files are not re-encoded

Audio cleanup categories

You can choose which categories to remove:

  • Privacy-related
  • AI source / Source URL
  • Comments / Description
  • Software / Encoder
  • Basic tags
  • Distribution info
  • Embedded artwork
  • Remove all metadata

By default, Metadata Preflight removes likely privacy/source-related metadata while keeping common music tags such as title, artist, album, copyright, and embedded artwork.

AI music metadata note

AI-generated MP3 files may include metadata such as source URLs, artist names, embedded artwork, encoder information, comments, and service-related links.

Metadata Preflight can help you inspect and remove selected metadata locally before uploading.

Test status

  • macOS: tested with AI-generated MP3 files.
  • Windows x64 Portable: tested with AI-generated MP3 files.
  • Default cleanup removed SourceURL / Suno-related metadata while keeping basic tags such as Artist.
  • “Remove all metadata” also removed basic tags such as Artist.
  • Windows arm64 builds are experimental.

  • macOS: AI生成MP3で動作確認済み
  • Windows x64 Portable: AI生成MP3で動作確認済み
  • デフォルト削除では SourceURL / Suno関連メタデータが削除され、Artistなどの基本タグは保持されることを確認
  • 「すべて削除」ではArtistなどの基本タグも削除されることを確認
  • Windows arm64版はexperimentalです

Notes / 注意

  • Audio metadata removal creates cleaned copies. Original files are not changed.
  • Audio files are not re-encoded.
  • Depending on selected categories, audio metadata removal may remove title, artist, album, cover artwork, ISRC, copyright, and other distribution-related tags.
  • Use cleaned copies for pre-upload checks, not as a replacement for your distribution master files.
  • Image metadata removal still uses Canvas re-export.
  • Files are processed locally and are not uploaded outside the app.
  • This is still an unsigned / unnotarized pre-release build.
  • macOS may show Gatekeeper warnings.
  • Windows may show Microsoft Defender SmartScreen warnings.

First launch on macOS

If macOS says the app is damaged or cannot be opened, run:

Metadata Preflight v0.6.0

This release adds audio metadata inspection.

Metadata Preflight can now check image and audio files locally before upload.
Audio files are inspection-only in this release; audio metadata removal is not available yet.

This release renames the app from Upmae Check Kun to Metadata Preflight.

The Japanese alias アップ前チェックくん is still kept inside the app and README.

  • 一括結果リストのスクロール視認性を改善
  • 大量画像読み込み時にスクロールバー/インジケーターが分かりやすくなるよう調整
  • 左側プレビュー枠が右側の結果表示に引っ張られて縦に伸びる問題を修正
  • ExifToolタブ / Rawタブの内部スクロール表示を維持
  • 大量画像・大量メタデータ表示時のレイアウト安定性を改善

  • ExifTool削除モードは未搭載です。
