Why do the UI feel so confusing?

Everything seems positioned at non-obvious places, Comparing to PlayStore.
Is there a place to check and see updates for all installed and tracked apps?

Installed page is the main hub for installed apps. Previously updates were also shown here, now moved into the updates/running-downloads bar (only visible when some updates are available or downloads are running).
