Having problems with permissions on classic Macs
#3197
slipperygrey on 68KMLA sent me over here as I am having issues with my new install of netatalk 4.2.3 on a RPi 4 to replace my aging A2SERVER install of Netatalk 2. I have been able to connect from modern Macs to a share I have set up but my test classic Mac (a PB 2400c running Mac OS 8.6) is having authentication issues and gives me the following error -
"The User Authentication Method required by this server can't be found, please check the AppleShare folder in the Extensions folder and try again."
I have used the authentication string as suggest by slippergrey on the Netatalk wiki in afp.conf -
"uam list = uams_dhx.so uams_dhx2.so uams_randnum.so uams_clrtxt.so"
I have confirmed with netatalk -V that I am editing the correct afp.conf file.

Any suggests on where to next?
