Applications Page Test Case

Preconditions for Testing

• The cluster must have at least two nodes.
• ejabberd application must be installed on both nodes (we want to demonstrate that we have no room for clone or move). This can be also demonstrated with crowdsec, netdata
• mail application must be installed on one node only (we want to demonstrate that we have a room for clone or move action). This can be also demonstrated with crowdsec, netdata
• install rootless and rootfull apllications
• Several other applications should be installed, some only on one node, some on both (choose as needed for other tests).

Main Applications Menu (Applications Page)

• Verify the "Applications" menu entry is present and visible in the UI.

Applications Listing & Filtering (Applications Page)

• Check that the list displays all cluster applications.
• Test filtering by node (apps relevant to the chosen node are displayed).
• Test filtering by application type (list changes as type filter changes).

Global Application Search (Applications Page)

• Search by label, ID, and host name, ensuring results match input.

Kebab (three-dots) Menu Actions (Applications Page)

• Test all actions available for each application from the kebab (three-dots) menu in both Software Center and Applications page.

Open applications (Applications Page)

• The "Open" menu item must open the correct application.
• Clicking the dark blue application name must also open the application.
• When an application is upgradable, verify the appearance of a green "upgrade" tag in the table.
  • The menu to update/upgrade must be available.
  • Opening upgrade modal: verify the available upgrade version is correctly displayed.
  • Confirm that the upgrade process and feedback works as expected.

Restart Actions (Software Center & Applications Page)

• Trigger application restart; verify confirmation modal, translation, and success feedback.
• Test rootfull and rootless apps
• test to restart application on leader and workers
• Verify in the journald of the relevant node if the app has been well restarted

Cloning Scenarios (Software Center & Applications Page)

• Try to clone ejabberd in both pages:
  • Must show a message it is not possible to clone as all nodes are occupied.
• Try to clone mail:
  • Cloning should be possible (mail is only on one node).
• For other apps installed only on one node:
  • Cloning should be possible if another node is free; confirm cloning works.

Moving Scenarios (Software Center & Applications Page)

• Test moving applications between nodes:
  • Moving should work for apps with free nodes.
  • Confirm UI and feedback for both pages.

Edit App Label (Software Center & Applications Page)

• Edit the label of any application.
• restricted to 24 alphanumerical characters and spaces
• The new label should be visible in the app's display.

Add Note Feature (Applications Page only)

• Add a note to any application in Applications page.
• restricted to 100 alphanumerical characters and spaces
• Note should be visible next to the module ID and show in a tooltip.

Remove apps (Applications Page only)

• Remove application from the kebab menu

Cluster Status Page

• Verify the Applications card link and the node details points to Applications page with the number of installed applications .

UI Consistency & Translations

• Validate all new features and modal translations, for now only english
• Navigation and instance management should be smooth and intuitive.

• Software Center page: Test the title's tooltip; it should point to Applications page.
• Applications page: Test the title's tooltip; it should point to Software Center page.
