Bugs with Machine Controllers in single-controller mode

Using: Modular Machinery-CE-1.12.2-1.11.1-r53

I've got B:only-one-machine-controller=true and when I break the Machine Controller (with a pickaxe) it just disappears rather than dropping.

Edit: also they aren't recoloured with the rest of the structure?
