Upcoming major releases of Chocolatey products that may impact functionality on the Chocolatey step templates

I'm the Technical Engineering Manager at Chocolatey Software, Inc. and I wanted to make sure you are aware that there will be a new major release of Chocolatey products soon. As it is a major release, we are making changes that may have an impact on the Chocolatey step templates.

We have beta versions of Chocolatey CLI and Chocolatey GUI publicly available that you can test against.

The release notes for the various products are below (some may or may not be applicable to the module, but I wanted to list them all for completeness):

• Chocolatey Agent
• Chocolatey GUI
• Chocolatey GUI Licensed Extension

We have no fixed date for release as yet, but it is coming soon.

I can confirm we have already hit issues with those step templates because cinst has been removed from the new major release. Hope this can be fixed soon.

The only place I found cinst was in the Execute AWS PowerShell template which I've submitted a PR to fix.

This should be reopened as that fix was for the aliases being removed. The Chocolatey step templates need to be looked at and updated if necessary.

Thanks @pauby. I found that why our deployments failed was due to using older version of the step templates. I updated the templates to latest version and 2.0.0 Chocolatey is working fine now.
