Where to find non App Store builds of Office for Mac

Issue

The article above states that

If you don't have an Office on Mac build, you can get one by joining the Microsoft 365 developer program.

Signing up to said program, I lost the trail. It is not clear how to download the non App Store versions of Office for Mac, whether I need an E5 subscription, or similar. Could you please add a clarifying paragraph?
