MaterialSkinCockpit

A Material Design 3 skin for Open Enigma2 receivers, in a dark theme with a light variant.

  • It is based on the E2-DarkOS skin by DimitarCC.
  • It was completely refactored with Claude Code to use SkinForge's hierarchical model: shared screen parts that are included and placed by relative positioning, and colours, fonts and corner radii that are defined once.
  • The skin only supports OpenViX.

Page Content
Colour concept The dark theme: principles, the palette of colour roles, contrast, rules for new screens, the parameters that still need hex values, and how to change the theme
Light colour concept The light variant with the same role names: how it differs, its palette, contrast, how to switch to it, and things to watch
Pixmap colours How the PNG and SVG artwork is recoloured to the roles by tools/recolor_pixmaps.py, what is left unchanged, and how to regenerate it

Sources

The skin sources are SkinForge YAML: skin.yml includes the *.ymlinc files of src/skin/default/, which ymlcompile compiles to the skin.xml that Enigma2 loads. See the SkinForge wiki for the language and the tools.
