Thanks for reporting this. I could verify the error path in the current codebase.

In 0.1.4 (package.json:3), linking a design system from the chat add-menu calls codesign:pick-design-system-directory, which scans the selected folder and then persists it via setDesignSystem() (apps/desktop/src/main/index.ts:737, apps/desktop/src/main/index.ts:749, apps/desktop/src/main/index.ts:750). That persistence step throws Cannot save a design system before onboarding has completed. when the app still has no saved config (apps/desktop/src/main/onboarding-ipc.ts:211).

So this does look like a real onboarding/design-system flow bug: the “Link design system repo” action is exposed in the UI (apps/desktop/src/renderer/src/components/chat/AddMenu.tsx:107), and the renderer just surfaces the resulting error toast if the save fails (apps/desktop/src/renderer/src/store.ts:1455). I also did not find an older issue or PR for this exact error text in the repo history search.

• Please attach the diagnostics bundle mentioned in the issue so maintainers can confirm the exact state around the failure.
