This pull request include some updates from my other libraries which I think would be useful to port to the openfast_toolbox.
They mostly consist of small bug fixes, removal of depreciation warnings for old Python, and small feature improvements.
I have left this library alone for a little while, so I apologize if the pull request is a tiny bit large.
