Concise explanation of the problem

We are migrating from Jekyll to Astro due to ongoing challenges with maintaining our Jekyll site on Netlify. The primary issue stems from consistent failures with Ruby language installation and dependency management on Netlify, which has led to frequent build issues and maintenance overhead. Astro, being JavaScript-based, offers a simpler setup and better alignment with our current development environment and needs.

We're going to do this in two parts:

• Remove Ruby and associated infra
• Introduce Astro

okay, eleventy is seriously growing on me and seems much better suited for what we’re looking for here.. we should have this migration completed by either tonight or tomorrow night🎉

it has been a much more involved migration that originally expected, but i have finally gotten to the end of it last night… i will make the eleventy migration pr now to close this issue…
