I just added suggestions to add the defaults for x_kind and y_kind. Once the doc tests pass with these updated suggestions, we can merge.

@jcharkow can you restart the docs build? Seems to have failed due to memory consumption? Or do we have push an arbitrary commit? |

I'm trying to rebuild, it might fail again though since we are at the edge of requiring too much memory |
