Building this platform comes at a substantial cost of compilation time, disk space, and download sizes, and troubleshooting build failures can be difficult. Having binaries available would make this project much more useful.
Initially, this will probably consist of four deliverables:
- Files for the boot partition (probably in compressed tar format)
- Rootfs files (in compressed tar format, as built by petalinux-build)
- SDSoC platform binaries (as built by SDx, probably in compressed tar format)
- Newcomer-friendly installation instructions, including generation of bootable SD cards
Need to figure out the state of the art in SD card creation tools for people who are not
bash-literate.
Assumptions:
- These binaries can be distributed through the github platform.
- Files sizes (especially of rootfs) are not so large as to create distribution issues
